Mother from North Carolina has been arrested after she allegedly left her ten-year-old son outside so she could go to a Christmas party on Monday.
Susan Dowless, 43, locked her son out of their home despite the temperature dropping to 38 degrees, police reported.
Apparently the mother did not provide him with the appropriate clothing for the weather.
The young boy was left completely alone outside while her and some relatives attended the party, which reports say lasted almost four hours.
Along with neglecting to give her son adequate clothing, records also the child was provided with no nourishment and there was absolutely zero supervision while she attended the party.
Despite the almost freezing temperature police did confirm the boy suffered no illness from the experience.
She has now been charged with misdemeanor child abuse and is being held under a $5,000 bond.
