A man dubbed ‘the poo jogger’ after he was photographed defecating on a city sidewalk has been outed as a top business executive.

Andrew Douglas Macintosh, 64, is the national quality manager with retirement village giant Aveo and is also on a Brisbane City Council board advising on planning issues, reported The Courier Mail. 

He was previously a Retirement Village Association director. 

He will be infamously remembered now though as the ‘poo jogger’ after being charged with public nuisance.

Residents in the Brisbane suburb of Greenslopes have complained for almost a year of a mysterious morning runner squatting and relieving himself on a public pathway.

They rallied together to catch the culprit in action.

Residents ended up snapping a photo of a man defecating on a pathway which lead to their apartment block during a morning jog.

Photographer Steve Smith waited at dawn to catch the jogger in the middle of his bizarre morning ritual.

He ran past the block three times in one week before he was snapped Macintosh defecating on the pathway. 

‘I started sitting out there in the dark and waiting, and I decided I was going to get a photo of this guy,’ Mr Smith told the Courier Mail.

‘I patiently waited each morning for a few minutes until eventually I got that photo.’

Mr Smith posted the image on Facebook in the attempt to identify the ‘poo jogger’. 

The image captured the grey-haired man squatting over the pathway clutching a piece of toilet paper.  

The case was mentioned this week in Holland Park Magistrates Court however the case was adjourned with the court file stating it is ‘likely to be withdrawn.’

In court, Brendan Ryan from Mulcahy Ryan Lawyers indicated there had been negotiations with prosecutors to have the offence dealt with by an infringement notice.
