  • Matthew said he ‘might see him at Christmas’ as they’re still not talking

Andrew and Matthew Johns’ bitter feud is showing no sign of being resolved, with the pair still not on speaking terms.

Earlier this year, a huge row erupted between the brothers on SEN radio after former New South Wales star Matty praised Queensland coach Billy Slater.

Andrew, a die-hard Blue who is closely connected with the team’s coach Brad Fittler, took umbrage with his brother’s public praise of the Maroons, leading to an explosive argument.

Plenty of fans and pundits expected the row to blow over, but the pair are still not on speaking terms, despite SEN boss Craig Hutchison’s efforts to smooth things over between the siblings.

Andrew has since walked away from his Friday morning radio show and he is not expected to return.

Matthew has since revealed that he has not spoken with his brother since the row first erupted in May, before casting doubt as to whether they will patch things up before the end of the year.

‘He hasn’t been spotted off Nobby’s,’ Matthew told Sport Confidential via news.com.au.

‘Plans to catch have been put on hold. We might see him at Christmas … might.’

Matthew recently revealed that he attempted to patch things up with his younger brother and reached out when Andrew turned 49, but did not receive a response.

While Andrew has not been talking to Matthew, he does remain in contact with his sibling’s sons, Jack and Cooper.

‘I talk to him,’ Knights backrower Jack said on a podcast recently. ‘Me and him are quite close.’

Matthew replied: ‘So you’re swapping to the other side, eh, Judas?

‘Well, why don’t you all just join in and give me a kicking, like your f***ing uncle, okay?

‘Do you think Joey will give me a call and bury the hatchet? Or do you think, this grudge, he’ll carry it on forever? Because I hope he carries it on forever.’
