Carolina Panthers star Adam Thielen has created special ‘Grinch’-themed cleats for Sunday’s game against the Green Bay Packers.

Thielen wandered into Bank of America Stadium holding the hilarious Nike Cleats, which featured fluorescent fur on the toes, heels and around the laces.

The wide receiver was later seen wearing them on the field as he went through his warm-up ahead of the Christmas Eve showdown.

‘You know I’ve got the Grinch cleats,’ Thielen told the cameras as he walked into the stadium – while ‘Santa Claus is coming to town’ played in the background.

He will be hoping to help the 2-12 Panthers build on last week’s win over the Falcons when they take on the 6-8 Packers on Sunday.

In the stands at Bank of America Stadium, one Packers fan was also dressed up as the Grinch – the Dr  Seuss character whose mission is to steal Christmas.

The NFL has been awash with customized footwear in recent weeks after the most recent ‘My Cause My Cleats’ campaign.

Texans quarterback CJ Stroud wore cleats with ‘#REFORM’ and ‘Free Pops’ stitched into the side as a tribute to his incarcerated father.

Coleridge Bernard Stroud III is currently serving a 38-year-to-life prison sentence after pleading guilty in 2015 to charges of misdemeanor sexual battery, robbery, kidnapping and carjacking, all relating to a drug-related incident.

Stroud’s father has been in prison since Stroud was in middle school and is serving his sentence at Folsom State Prison near Sacramento.
