Sir Patrick Stewart enjoyed a cosy outing with his wife Sunny Ozell as they attended the American Cinematheque Awards in Beverly Hills on Thursday.

The actor, 83, cut a dapper figure in a navy suit with black lapels, teamed with his signature black-framed glasses.

Singer-songwriter Sunny, 45, stunned in a lace black dress with a sweetheart neckline and capped sleeves.

She complemented the dress with black heels, arriving proudly on her husband Patrick’s arm for the awards event.

The 37th Cinematheque Awards aim to honour ‘an extraordinary artist in the entertainment industry who is fully engaged in his or her work and is committed to making a significant contribution to the art of the motion pictures’.

Patrick and Sunny celebrated their ten-year anniversary of their wedding – officiated by Sir Ian McKellen – in September 2023.

They met met in 2008 at Franny’s restaurant in New York where Ozell was working as a waitress.

He was working in the area as at the time, acting in Macbeth at the Brooklyn Academy of Music. 

Patrick is best known for his roles in X Men and Star Trek.

In X Men, he played Professor Charles Francis Xavier, a paraplegic ‘mutant’ with the ability to control people with his mind, from 2000 to 2022.

Patrick joined the cast of Star Trek in 1987 as Jean-Luc Picard, the captain of as the captain of the Federation starship USS Enterprise (NCC-1701-D).

He reprised his role of Jean-Luc in 2020 series Star Trek: Picard, much to the delight of King Charles III.

Patrick has not acted since the series concluded in 2023, and it is not known if he has any projects in the works.

Patrick was married twice before Sunny: firstly to Sheila Falconer, from 1966 to their 1990 divorce and secondly to Wendy Neuss from 2000 to 2003 when they divorced.

He has both of his children from his marriage to Sheila, daughter Sophia and a son Daniel, who enjoyed an acting career.

Patrick has said in the past he has a ‘non-existent’ relationship with his children and regrets the large amounts of time he spent away from them.

He told New York Daily News: ‘I would see my kids on Sundays if I was lucky.’
