Pennsylvania man high on meth stabbed dog to death

A Pennsylvania man ended up killing his dog after he claimed the animal put a curse on him. 

29-year-old Joseph Elliott from Lancaster County will now likely serve between one and two years in prison followed by three years probation as a result of the impulsive and cruel act.

Elliott pleaded guilty to stabbing his dog to death and stealing a car in separate incidents earlier this year.

Elliott stole a Volkswagen Jetta from a man who lived nearby, but when he was caught he gave police a false name. 

Elizabethtown police were originally called to Elliott’s apartment in April where they found him naked in a doorway.

He quickly fessed up that he had consumed methamphetamine.

The police then searched his home and found his dog dead in his bathroom with multiple cuts and lacerations to its body. 

The Lancaster County Animal Coalition conducted a necropsy and found that the dog suffered eight stab wounds and bruising on its body. 

Elliott again fessed up stating he felt the dog had ‘put a hex on him.’
