Peter Andre is ‘inspired’ by his parents’ marriage.

The pop star, 51, has been married to Emily MacDonagh, 35, for almost a decade and took to social media on Thursday to share a clip of his dad Savvas, 92, and his mum Thea, 87, celebrating their anniversary.

The couple tied the knot in 1955, meaning that next year will be their Platinum anniversary.

In the clip, Savvas is visiting his wife in her care home in Australia and is carrying with him a huge bunch of flowers.

Peter wrote alongside the video: ‘My 91 year old dad giving flowers to my beautiful mum with his classic one liner for their 69th wedding anniversary.

‘Honestly, they inspire me so so much.

‘I love them both beyond words. I Thank them everyday for being the best parents I could wish for.

‘See you in a few weeks 1 year away from the big 70. Thank you sis @the.beauty.couture for looking after them.’

Savvas quipped to the nurses that he has been married for ‘three life sentences’ and impressed them with a huge black-and-white photo from his wedding day.

Thea suffers from Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s, and earlier this year, Peter made a heartbreaking admission as he struggled to cope.

In his column for new! magazine, Peter said: ‘I can’t believe I’m nearly 51. I was worried as I approached 50, but I’m over that and I feel great.

‘I’m loving life and age is just a number. You can live life to the fullest at any age. I will be honest, though, the only thing that makes me sad about getting older is that my parents are too.’
