Pick the player who’s NEVER getting dropped: Footballer has eyes for nobody but his captain during fiery motivational speech

  • A division three local Victorian footy skipper has pulled off a cracking speech
  • Wyndham Suns captain Dean Cachia had teammate Joel Patty in a trance
  • Patty locked eyes on his captain and appeared mesmerised at three-quarter time

A Victorian division three footy player has sent fans into hysterics by appearing to be hypnotised by his captain during a motivational speech.

The Wyndham Suns defeated the Braybrook Brookers 77-42 on Saturday, thanks in part to a classy address from skipper Dean Cachia – and it certainly left a mark on his teammate, Joel Patty.

Wyndam Suns Division three seniors captain Dean Cachia inspires his side to a 77-42 win over Braybrook – catching the eye of teammate Joel Patty, who was seemingly in awe of the skipper

Cachia kicked two goals in his side’s dominant away win in the heart of Melbourne, but it was his passion at the end of the third quarter that earned his teammates’ respect.

Up 64-21 going into the final term, Cachia urged his squad to put in a full-game performance while Patty stood dead still in front of him, seemingly in awe of what he was hearing.

‘This is seriously impressive what we’re doing, but as I asked we’ve gotta do it for four quarters – we’re 75 percent of the way!’ Cachia yelled.

‘Smash them in the contest, let’s get up and about.’

Patty’s eyes never left Cachia, and he moved his head in time with the skipper like he’d been lulled into a trance.

Sportsbet reposted the legendary local footy inspiration to Facebook with the caption: ‘Find yourself someone who looks at you like this local legend looks at his skipper’.

Patty was named one of his side’s best in their round nine victory and the Suns moved to a clear second on the ladder with seven wins from eight games.

Cachia has kicked 48 goals this season, including 13 in the Suns’ 288-7 round one embarrassment of North Sunshine.

Patty is playing his fourth season with the Suns and was seen lapping up the team song after their comfortable victory.

Fans were quick to admire Patty’s love for his club captain on Western Region’s Instagram account.

‘Love the bloke up front looking his captain dead in the eye shows respect and care about what’s being said. Full focus,’ a fan commented.

‘Wish someone would look at me the way the guy front and centre looks at his captain,’ another wrote.
