Police have released eerie CCTV footage of a man wandering the street after an eight-week-old puppy died in a suspicious fire. 

Emergency services were called to the blaze at a unit at Marsden Park Road, St Marys in Sydney’s west at 12:50 am on Tuesday June 22.

Firefighters found the dead eight-week-old puppy named MJ inside the home.

Officers from Nepean Police Area Command have launched an investigation and the fire is being treated as suspicious.

Police have released CCTV vision of a man they would like to speak to as they continue their investigations.

The man who was seen in the area before and after the fire is shown wearing a dark hooded jumper or jacket and baggy style jeans.

As inquiries continue police urge anyone with information on the incident to contact Crime Stoppers.
