Princess Beatrice’s engagement photo bears a striking resemblance to Harry and Meghan’s shoot

Princess Beatrice is branded a ‘copycat’ for ‘imitating’ Prince Harry and Meghan’s black and white engagement photo – as fans spot their VERY similar loved-up poses

  • Princess Beatrice announced engagement to Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi yesterday
  • Fans say black & white snap is similar to Meghan and Harry’s engagement shoot
  • Many took to social media, with one calling Princess Beatrice, 31, a ‘copy cat’

Royal fans have accused Princess Beatrice of ‘imitating’ one of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s loved-up engagement photographs.

The Queen’s granddaughter, 31, announced her engagement to property tycoon Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, 34, yesterday – and it seems one of the ‘copycat’ snaps has caused quite a stir.

In a black and white picture taken by photographer Misan Harriman at Royal Lodge, Windsor Great Park, the happy couple can be seen cosying up to each other, with the royal’s face nestled on the father-of-one’s shoulder.

And many eagle-eyed social media users were quick to draw comparisons to an official snap released to mark the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s engagement in 2017, which shows Meghan tenderly placing a hand on Harry’s face.

‘What in the name?’ said one fan, before sharing a side-by-side photo of the two. ‘I absolutely cannot with this copy cat family.’

A second penned: ‘Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery they say,’ while another added: ‘They couldn’t even envision a different pose/picture.’

Posting the snap in question to his Instagram account, Edoardo added the touching tribute: ‘You will never be alone my love, my heart is your home. Hand in hand, today, tomorrow and forever.’

However, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex shared a similarly close embrace in their engagement shoot, which was taken by Alexi Lubomirski in the grounds of Frogmore House.

While the couples strike an equally gushy pose, the biggest difference is that Meghan shows off her sparkling ring, while Princess Beatrice has removed hers.

Nevertheless, fans continued to discuss the uncanny pose – with some even going so far as to accuse Beatrice of being a ‘copycat.’

‘Mighty funny it is the done thing to take black and white photos after major announcement. Wonder where they got that idea. Hmm?’ wrote one, while a second commented: ‘Not an original bone in their bodies.’

Meanwhile, a further added: ‘It’s copycat time for Beatrice and Edo.’

Beatrice and Mr Mapelli Mozzi said of their 11-month whirlwind romance in a statement: ‘We are extremely happy to be able to share the news of our recent engagement.

‘We are both so excited to be embarking on this life adventure together and can’t wait to actually be married.

‘We share so many similar interests and values, and we know that this will stand us in great stead for the years ahead, full of love and happiness.’
