Quinta Brunson takes a jab at Gwyneth Paltrow’s ski crash trial while making her SNL hosting debut

Quinta Brunson took a playful swipe at one of the most beloved comedies of all time while making her hosting debut on Saturday Night Live.

After exclaiming that she has been ‘dreaming’ about appearing on SNL since she was a kid, the Emmy winner, 33, spoke about her ‘unique’ TV show, Abbott Elementary, which she described as like Friends but ‘instead of not having black people, it does.’

She also pointed out that instead of ‘being about a group of friends, it’s about a group of teachers. And instead of New York, it’s in Philadelphia.’

During her opening monologue, the star also joked that she is ‘the opposite of’ her character, Janine Teagues, who she described as a ‘good and wholesome’ second grade teacher.

‘I’m not a filthy wh**e, but I like to have fun,’ she mused, before insisting she needs to be able to let loose without people saying: ‘D**n Ms. Teagues is out here getting wasted at Universal Studios.’

Additionally, the performer revealed she had to start ‘lying’ to her mother ‘about who’ she’s ‘hanging out with’ since getting famous, instead of revealing she’s meeting up with Oprah Winfrey and Barack Obama. 

She proceeded to urge viewers to ‘acknowledge the work’ teachers ‘do every day’ and ‘for the love of god, pay them the money they deserve.’ 

‘So please, remember how important teachers are,’ she concluded. 

Her first sketch began with two men in a bar of a nightclub bathroom that are on a search for cocaine, but are concerned to buy some laced with fentanyl.

They are immediately approached by a man, who claims his product is so pure that ‘it’s like a bunny rabbit making snow angels on a cloud.’

Brunson then interjects that her drugs are even better, and that her drugs are whiter than ‘Gwenth Paltrow skiing in Utah.’

While going back and forth about who’s coke is the most pure, she hilariously said hers are whiter than someone that takes their ‘shoes and socks off on’ an airplane or Panic! At The Disco’s 2005 hit song I Write Sins Not Tragedies.

Kenan Thompson insisted his coke is even better as he compares his drugs as ‘so white, its dad sends it money every month for rent.’

A former bridesmaid, portrayed by Heidi Gardner, described losing all control of her calendar and being bombarded with messages, despite initially being sold on a ‘one day’ commitment.

‘For the next 18 months, I was fully sucked in,’ she said.

Another former bridesmaid (Ego Nwodim) said she was in placed in an ’email chain’ regularly sent group texts and had ‘whole conversations’ through Venmo.

Bowen Yang, who portrayed a gay man targeted into being in a bridal, revealed he ‘drugged’ himself to get through a bachelorette party.

Brunson tells the cameras that she spent $300 on a blue chiffon gown with a ‘modest neckline’ that the bride tried to convince her she would be able to wear again.

Yang then details the most ‘demeaning’ part of the experience, which was having to ‘write and perform original lyrics’ based on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air theme song.

It concludes with Brunson’s character flashing her engagement ring as she reveals she ‘just got engaged.’

‘Don’t worry. I’m going to be such a chill bride,’ she says as ominous music plays in the background.

After revealing his biggest fear was having to spend the rest of his life taking care of her, if she fell down the stairs and broke her neck, Brunson begins to simmer.

Later, he reveals if she was in an accident his dream vacation would be Aruba, in which case, he’d rather go to Big Sur with her and her sister.

‘After years of caring for you together, we will have grown close in a way we never expected,’ he predicted. ‘And, when we finally climax together under the Redwoods, we’ll hold each other and weep, not just because the pleasure is so intense but because we finally feel relief from our tragically shared burden.’

The answer clearly upsets her, but ends up winning them the game, which is an all-expenses-paid trip to Bali’s Temple of Thousand Steps.

This causes Thompson to yet out a terrified scream.

‘Respect, respect. Hey, this might be crazy. But are you hungry?’ she asks.

After he agrees to eat with her, she thens him he could ‘eat this butt.’

Fineman then steps in to tell Brunson to ‘suck’ it as cars honked all around them.

Nearly two decades later, they reunite for a third time, but he apologies for pretending not to recognize Brunson.
