Laura and Jake are believed to have been dating since 2016.

It comes a year after Laura made history after surfing the biggest wave ever ridden by a woman and making it into the Guinness Book of World Records.

Laura launched into a monster 13.3m – or 43.6 foot – wave at the notorious Himalayas break on Hawaii’s north shore.

A mistake could have been fatal, but Laura seized her moment, eclipsing the previous record of 42 feet, set by Andrea Moller in Maui in 2016.

The anxious lead-up to the record-breaking ride lasted a whole week for the surf star.

‘You’re always nervous, but you’re the most scared the week before when you see the swell on the forecast,’ she told the Sydney Morning Herald at the time.

‘You have a week to stew on it, and you start thinking about all the things that can happen like breaking bones, concussion, drowning.

‘I knew straight away it was the biggest wave I had ridden. I just had to hold on for dear life.’
