In February, Armstrong revealed she and her spouse, 42, took a month-long separation, which helped mend their strained marriage.

‘I’m just going to be honest. We actually separated. We separated and then lived life without each other,’ she told Page Six. ‘Sometimes I think you need to get a little shaken up before you really appreciate the other person.’

A source of tension between the pair has been parenting their nine-year-old twins Cece and Vince and Valor, eight.

Armstrong, who initiated the break, said it was ‘not easy’ but ‘there was nothing left to do’ to save their relationship.

‘After you’ve been together 12 years and have been through so much stuff — to hell and back together so many times — you almost forget that the other person wants to have fun and have lighthearted conversations and go out,’ she enthused. ‘So, we’ve been doing a lot of that and it’s actually been enjoyable.’

Their marital problems have been heavily documented on Real Housewives of Orange County’s current season, including Armstrong revealing the night Holliday stormed off after she tried to talk to him about their relationship.

She recalled to cast mate Heather Dubrow, 52, one night when he ‘packed his bags and left’ before returning the next morning.

Jen said in a confessional on the show, last month, that Ryne left the house, came back, screamed at her, then walked out again.

‘I feel completely alone right now,’ she told Dubrow while crying in a car. ‘It’s not even hurt, it’s like humiliation. It’s like he totally humiliates me. I need a divorce.’

‘No,’ said Heather.

‘Yes,’ said Jen. ‘I don’t want to do this ever again. I really don’t like this. I don’t want to feel like this ever again.’
