Veteran broadcaster Richard Keys has taken aim at Man City over the club’s pricing of hospitality tickets for young fans.

A report from the the Mirror revealed City’s Autograph package will cost an eye-watering £2,130 for under 12s and £3,200 for older children and adults.

The club’s website calls the package ‘one of the most extraordinary experiences in the world of football’ and offers fans the chance to ‘snap a photo and get an autograph with some of your favourite names in football from the Man City team’.

However, Keys slammed the high price of the experience, and called on the Premier League champions to ‘Engage with [the] fan base the right way.’

‘Come on @ManCity If there’s a club in the world can afford to do this properly it’s you.’ The former Sky Sports presenter wrote on social media.

‘This is a disgrace at a time when money is so tight in the U.K. Engage with tomorrow’s fan base the right way. Make the service complementary.’

In addition to the chance to meet players, the Autograph package also includes ‘executive transport to the Etihad from a City centre location’, ‘five-course fine dining experience with inclusive drinks’ and ‘luxury, padded, heated seats directly behind the team dugouts’.

By comparison, the most expensive hospitality package including a matchday ticket for rivals Manchester United’s clash with Crystal Palace later this month is listed at £1,250.

However, City’s Autograph package isn’t the most expensive hospitality ticket in the Premier League.

Arsenal’s ‘Hero Experience’ has prices starting at £8,940 and offers fans the chance to meet a first team player of their choice and enjoy ‘private pre-match pitch-side tour with an Arsenal legend’.

City have been contacted for comment.
