Rikers Island correction officers have a vicious catfight outside NYC nightclub

Shocking footage has emerged of off-duty Rikers Island corrections officers brawling outside a Queens nightclub in New York City after one colleague allegedly performed oral sex on a male co-worker inside the venue.

The Department of Corrections is currently investigating the events surrounding the mayhem that went down at Amadeus Night Club in Elmhurst on June 22.

On Thursday officials revealed that 32-year-old corrections officer Cortina Theodore has been charged with two counts of misdemeanor assault after she allegedly attacked two of her co-workers.

More than 20 other officers are reportedly facing disciplinary action for their involvement in the party, which has been the talk of Rikers Island for the past week.

DailyMail.com obtained a 23-second video of the brawl which shows at least four women attacking a fifth in the street, all of them decked out in club-wear and some of them barefoot.

One woman is lying on the ground as another punches her into the pavement.

‘Get the f*** off her bitch!’ a woman can be heard yelling.

‘You’re not here, ho!’ another screams.

A police source told DailyMail.com the catfight that erupted around 9pm began as a verbal argument which may have been about a man.

‘This DOC investigation is not just about the fight, it’s for the other things that happened inside this party,’ the source said. ‘There were a lot of inebriated officers, which led to the party getting out of control.’

Another video from inside the night club shows what is believed to be a female officer performing oral sex on a male colleague.

DailyMail.com chose not to publish the video – which was recorded on Instagram – as it is extremely graphic.

‘That was happening inside the party, on the dance floor,’ the source said. ‘That was a female correction officer who was inebriated. She decided she wanted to perform oral sex on one of the male officers who was at the party.’

The source added: ‘It was a CO party. The whole party was full of COs. This investigation is far from over. There’s a whole lot of stuff that happened in there.

‘You’ve got a whole room full of drunk officers. Any CO that didn’t report the incidents could be in trouble.

‘This has been talked about all week by DOC. Everybody on Rikers Island has been talking about it. I don’t know who leaked [the videos], but it’s out there now.’

When asked about the incident and the videos, Deputy Commissioner for Public Information Peter Thorne told DailyMail.com: ‘We take these claims seriously, and this matter is under investigation.’

The New York Daily News reported that the DOC is struggling to identify everyone involved in the fight because the video is unclear.

A source also told the outlet word of the brawl has reached the top brass of the Corrections Department.

‘It’s an embarrassment,’ the insider said. ‘Everyone was going crazy that night.’

At least one of the officers involved in the fight was reportedly on medical leave at the time after having been attacked by a Rikers Island inmate a few days earlier.

Theodore was accused of punching two women, Amanicque Paul, 26, and Cheryl Smith, 25, in the face repeatedly.

The dispute reportedly began in the club’s gender-neutral bathroom as Smith was speaking to a male correction officer, the Daily News reported.

Paul entered the bathroom to check on Smith when Theodore stepped in and started an argument, according to Paul’s sister Makeda Foster, a former DOC employee.

‘Theodore for whatever reason started causing trouble,’ Foster said.

Things turned physical and Smith threw a bucket at Theodore in self defense, prompting an all-out brawl.

‘Theodore tried to attack my sister [inside] the nightclub near the bar area — that was broken up — and then when my sister got outside, that’s when Theodore started to attack her and then her friends joined in,’ Foster said.

Theodore allegedly tore Paul’s wig off her head and threw it on the ground before punching her over and over.

Paul suffered a black eye and a bruised lip while Smith suffered a bruised face.

The victims reported the assault the following day and identified Theodore as their attacker.

Foster told the Daily News: ‘It’s an embarrassment not just to my sister but to the department and to the shield that she wears and the uniform that she wears.

‘[They] had no words or confrontation the whole night or any other time prior to this,’ Foster said. ‘They really didn’t have an issue. What happened in the bathroom, [Theodore] involved herself — along with her friends — to participate in this gang assault. That’s how I look at it.’

Theodore will be arraigned in Queens Criminal Court later this month.
