Clad in dark tracksuit bottoms and a white zip-up jacket, Rod strolled around the edge of the pitch wearing trainers.

The singer ensured he didn’t catch a chill by layering up with a black padded coat boasting a faux-fur hood.

Little Aiden rocked his white and green striped football kit with a bright orange bib over the top.

Rod recently revealed his regret over releasing his eighth album at the same time as Adele, telling BBC Radio 5’s Headliners podcast he’s never been fussed over ‘how many copies’ his albums sells, as people only ‘remember number ones’.

‘I’d rather not have this album coming out right now with Adele and, who else is coming out? Sting,’ Rod began.

‘Everybody’s got an album coming out now. So I wanted my eighth number one album, so I wanted it to come out in the summer.

‘I don’t care about how many copies it sells. I just like that number one. People remember number ones,’ he continued.

Adele and Sting both released their latest albums on November 19 – Adele’s 30 and Sting’s The Bridge.
