Roxy Jacenko says her relationship with Oliver Curtis is now better than ever after a rough patch

As far as rough patches go, they don’t come much rougher than the one Roxy Jacenko and Oliver Curtis endured.

The couple’s marriage was tested when Oliver, 33, served a year in prison in 2016 for conspiracy to commit insider trading.

During this time, the 38-year-old received a breast cancer diagnosis and briefly reunited with her ex, Nabil Gazal.

But more than a year after Oliver’s release from prison, Roxy says their relationship couldn’t be more rock solid.

Speaking to Daily Mail Australia at the Myer Runway Series fashion show in Sydney on Thursday night, Roxy said things between the couple were finally back on track.

‘Life’s good. I couldn’t ask for better,’ she told Daily Mail Australia.

‘When anyone would say to you, “What doesn’t kill you only makes you stronger”, I used to say, “Would you just shut the f**k up? Seriously?”‘

‘But the reality is, it is true. We learnt a lot about life during that time. It was a very testing and very challenging time.’

While she may have had doubts about her marriage during Oliver’s stint in prison, Roxy said she eventually came to realise just how rare their relationship actually is.

‘I really realised how wonderful a father he is, how dedicated to his family he is, and he’s always had my back,’ she said.

‘And to find that person who always has your back, no matter what you do or what shortcomings you have in your life is very few and far between, so I’m very grateful.’

Although she’s thankful for her relationship, the PR maven says she also values her independence.

‘I’ve had situations with my husband over the course we’ve been married – seven years… I went through cancer on my own, I had the children, so for me, I’m very focused on being very self-sufficient, and work for me is very enjoyable,’ she added.

On track: 'Life is great. I've got two beautiful children, Ollie is very happy, we're running the businesses together now,' she said

Speaking of work, the couple is now working together, too.

‘Life is great. I’ve got two beautiful children, Ollie is very happy, we’re running the businesses together now,’ she said.

‘I’ve always wanted that support network in my business and I’ve now got it. He can’t do PR, he can’t do photography, he can’t do anything like that, but he’s a very strong business person. What I can’t do, he can do.’
