Sam Burgess pictured without wedding ring on group outing

Sam and Phoebe Burgess called time on their three-year marriage in December last year, less than a month after welcoming their second child.

And on Saturday last week, it appeared that the pair were working things out after they were spotted by The Daily Telegraph looking close on a park date.

However in a photo shared to Instagram on Friday, the NRL star was pictured without his wedding ring.

In the photo, shared by Geoffrey Michael Patissier in Albury, New South Wales, Sam was pictured at an outdoor table with brother Tom Burgess and pal Adrian Purtell.

Sam, 30, dressed casually in a navy dress shirt and beige shorts, and drew attention to his lack of wedding ring as he placed his hands on the table.

Tom and Adrian also dressed casually, with Sam’s younger brother flashing two thumbs up signs for the camera.

The sighting comes after Sam appeared to be making inroads towards a reunion with his estranged wife Phoebe Burgess.

On Saturday last week, the NRL star and the former journalist looked relaxed and happy as they took their two children to Sydney’s Centennial Park.

Sam carried the pair’s daughter Poppy, two, in his arms while Phoebe, 29, wheeled their newborn, William, 10 weeks, in a pram.

There was little sign anything was amiss as the pair enjoyed the warm summer day, strolling along and chatting.

A source told The Daily Telegraph however, that the display of unity is ‘just for their children’ and there appears to be no reunion yet.

Sam was spotted back at the family’s $3.8 million property in Sydney’s Maroubra in late January – the first time in more than a month.

Phoebe has remained living at the palatial residence, and it is understood that her mother, Sarah Hooke, has temporarily moved in to lend a helping hand.

The Rabbitohs player dropped by briefly and looked downcast as he left the premises without a wedding ring on his finger.

However in recent days, he’s been spending increasing time at the home, The Daily Telegraph reports, and going for food and nappy runs.
