Sam Hunt and wife Hannah Lee Fowler welcomed daughter Lucy Lu ‘a couple of weeks ago’

Four-time Grammy nominee Sam Hunt and his wife Hannah Lee Fowler welcomed their first child, a daughter called Lucy Lu, sometime around May 19.

The 37-year-old country crooner broke the baby news during his set at Stars for Second Harvest show inside the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville on Tuesday.

‘I recently had a baby girl named Lucy Lu,’ Sam told the cheering crowd in a video posted on Music Mayhem’s TikTok account.

‘I think being out here, and in the music business and being out on the road, has sort of hardened my heart. My heart’s definitely a lot harder in a lotta ways since I left that small town. It’s amazing how that little girl melted that all away overnight a couple of weeks ago.

‘I’ve been filled with a lot of gratitude these past couple of weeks and I just want to say up here on The Ryman stage how grateful I am to have been a part of country music for the last ten years.’

Hunt’s update came 30 days after the 36-year-old registered nurse called off their divorce a month after accusing him of ‘adultery as well as cruel and inhuman treatment.’

TMZ reported on May 8 that a judge signed off on the married couple of five years’ divorce sometime in April. 

Sam and Hannah are said to have a prenuptial agreement, and their on/off romance dates back to 2008 when he was a quarterback for the University of Alabama, Birmingham.

Hunt penned much of his 2014 debut studio album Montevallo and his 2020 track Drinkin’ Too Much, about Fowler and their rocky relationship.

‘Respect for women was a very important part of my upbringing. The women in my life demanded that from me,’ the Georgia native told Billboard back in 2015.

‘I spent a lot of time talking to [Hannah] about the songs [on Montevallo] and asking, “What do you think about this?” Her perspective was a powerful part of me being able to connect with a female audience, not just a male audience.’

Sam – who was arrested for a DUI in 2019 – will next bring his 30-date 2022 tour to the San Diego County Fair on June 24.
