Sam Mac suffers embarrassing fail live on Sunrise after accidentally knocking over a $1000 light during boxing demonstration

Sam Mac suffered an unfortunate faux pas on Monday’s episode of Sunrise after he attempted to showcase his boxing skills live on-air.

The weatherman, who is known for performing daring stunts, was presenting a live segment inside a gym where he was being given a private boxing class.

At one point, the trainer asked Sam to place his hands in a defensive position so that he could punch his stomach.

Unfortunately, the meteorologist was unable to keep his balance as the trainer began punching him, and he stumbled backwards into a tall light.

Onlookers gasped as they watched the light fall to the floor, while Sam exclaimed: ‘Oh my god!’

Turning to the trainer, he added with a laugh: ‘That was all him! If the lawyers are watching, what’s the name of this gym?’

Meanwhile, the Sunrise crew could be seen laughing as they watched the segment from the studio.

‘I loved your face in that, Sam! You were like, “Ohh! I’m in trouble!” fill-in host Monique Wright said.

Sam meanwhile picked up the light and confirmed that it hadn’t been broken.

‘You know what I love? That everyone was worried about the light, not about me,’ he chuckled.

Sam also posted a clip of the embarrassing moment to Instagram, writing in the caption: ‘Today I learned the origins of the term “punch your lights out”. I am happy to report that the $1000 light is has made a full recovery and will be back on duty providing [me] with my Kardashian style glow again tomorrow.’

‘Thank you for your thoughts & prayers (for the light) throughout this period,’ he joked.
