She has been living a low-key life on her farm in the Southern Highlands after quitting as the host of Sunrise. 

But Samantha Armytage was well and truly back in the limelight at the opening of the Winx Stand at Royal Randwick Racecourse in Sydney on Thursday.

The 45-year-old looked elegant in a powder blue sheath dress with cape-like sleeves by Carla Zampatti.

She completed her look with a pair of colourfully patterned heels and a blue box clutch purse. 

Samantha accessorised with a pair of dangly earrings and a fine bracelet around one of her wrists.

Her shoulder-length blonde hair was styled in loose waves and worn pushed back off her face with a blue knot headband adorned with pearls.

She worn soft pink makeup, smiling happily as she arrived at the event.

Samantha is an avid horse racing fan, and is regularly seen at events, often accompanied by her husband of a year, Richard Lavender.

In September last year, she was announced as the 2020 Everest Carnival Ambassador.

‘Both my grandfathers bred and trained and ran racehorses in the country, and we all have ridden horses. As Dad said, it beats the hell out of walking.’

She added: ‘I love racing – I love the athleticism and the competition of it.’
