Sevilla secure 2-0 victory away to Valencia in LaLiga as they prepare for second leg of Europa League quarter-final tie against Manchester United

Sevilla warmed up for the second leg of their Europa League clash against Manchester United with a 2-0 victory over Valencia.

Loic Bade put Sevilla in the ascendancy when he found the net in the 55th minute, with Suso making it 2-0 with 20 minutes remaining.

Valencia’s misery was compounded when Ilaix Moriba was sent off late on. 

Sevilla are in 12th place in LaLiga during what has been an inconsistent season that has seen them have three different managers.

However, they still have a chance of glory in the Europa League, with their quarter-final tie against United finely poised at 2-2.

United established a two-goal lead in the first leg at Old Trafford, with Marcel Sabitzer scoring a brace.

However, Sevilla managed to get a draw, with Tyrell Malacia and Harry Maguire scoring late own goals.

The sides meet again on Thursday at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium.

Whoever prevails in that game will face Juventus or Sporting in the semi-finals, with the Italian side leading 1-0 from the first leg. 

Sabitzer was a late withdrawal from United’s starting lineup against Nottingham Forest due to injury, with Christian Eriksen replacing him.

Antony and Diogo Dalot were on target for Erik ten Hag’s side in a 2-0 win.
