Shailene Woodley looks chic in a double breasted blazer and matching wide leg trousers as she celebrates the opening of new Michael Kors store

Shailene Woodley put on a chic display as she attended the launch of Michael Kors’ new store on Rodeo Drive in Los Angeles on Wednesday.

The actress, 32, wore a double breasted blazer with a pair of matching wide leg trousers for the event.

She broke up her neutral coloured ensemble with a thin tan leather belt and elevated her height with black pointed toe heels.

Shailene styled her hair into natural waves and opted for a very subtle makeup look to complete her outfit.

Celebrating with a dinner at Canters by Spago, she posed for photos inside the venue, where she was later joined by Olivia Wilde.

Olivia kept things casual, sporting a white vest and high-waisted black wide-leg trousers – which had a double-buckle leather belt.

The Don’t Worry Darling actress and director, 40, finished off her look with a collection of dainty silver pendant necklaces, diamond drop and hoop earrings and a pair of black patent shoes.

Last month, Shailene spoke with climate activists at the Time 100 Summit panel in New York City.

The focus of the discussion was on clean energy and how a shift to that could also benefit poorer communities.

Woodley is an actor and environmental activist.

She has worked with Greenpeace—and joined a yearlong expedition on the Esperanza ship in 2019 to research the impact of plastics and microplastics on marine life—and advocates for climate solutions.

Robert D. Bullard, professor and director of the Bullard Center for Environmental and Climate Policy at Texas Southern University, shared his thoughts with the star.

He said poorer communities bear the brunt of health costs and problems associated with facilities that generate pollution but enjoy few of the economic benefits, such as jobs.

He said poorer communities bear the brunt of health costs and problems associated with facilities that generate pollution but enjoy few of the economic benefits, such as jobs.

‘There’s no economic renaissance along the fenceline in Louisiana’s cancer alley or Houston’s chemical quarter. Those communities that historically have been left out, their voices have not been in the room when decisions are being made about policy,’ Bullard said in the Time piece.

The actress has long been an advocate for the environment and has been involved in several organisations that promote clean and renewable energy and other means of protecting and preserving the natural world.

In 2016 at the Dakota Access Pipeline protests she was arrested for criminal trespassing during a livestream on Facebook. She posted bail for the 26 other protesters she was arrested with.

Her arrest mugshot went viral and helped spread awareness about the protests to a wider audience.
