Sheridan Smith hopes to find her real life Greek lover just like her character Shirley Valentine did as she prepares to jet off for her next work commitment.

The actress, 41, is coming to the end of her one-woman West End play about a Liverpudlian housewife who falls in love with Costas, a Greek Taverna owner.

Following her final six shows, Sheridan will head off to Greece and Fiji to star in a new Paramount TV production The Castaways about two sisters who embark on a holiday of a lifetime.

The singer told her Instagram followers she couldn’t wait to land in Greece and meet the man of her dreams.

She penned: ‘God I’ll miss this show, the team and the audiences! Been my favourite job ever! Thank you to every one @dukeofyorksIdn and all involved and who came to support.

‘So overwhelming. 6 more Shirley Valentine’s then I’m genuinely off to Greece filming for 6 weeks. You couldn’t write it – let’s hope I find my Costas. Not the coffee!

‘Thank you to all of you who came and if you ever want chips and egg, I’m your girl x’.

Sheridan is currently single following her split last year from boyfriend Alex Lawler after four months of dating. 

She shares son Billy, three, with insurance broker Jamie Horn whom she had a three year relationship with. 

It comes after Sheridan shared a series of adorable snaps and gushed over her son Billy as she celebrated his third birthday last month.

The Cilla and Funny Girl actress took to Instagram to mark her son’s big day with a touching tribute, telling fans he had ‘changed her life’.

She also shared a sweet selection of snaps, including throwback photos from when he was only weeks old, and more recently at his lavish Grand Prix-themed birthday party.

Alongside the photos, she wrote: ‘3 years ago today, this little angel changed my life. Happy 3rd birthday Billy! You’re my world! 3/5/2020.’

In one picture, the star can be seen gazing adoringly at her son as he sings into a microphone – proving that he’s just like his famous mother. 

Sheridan looked radiant in the snap, opting for a white jumper, black trousers and stylish white sunglasses.

In another picture taken only days after his birth, Sheridan cuddles up to Billy on the couch after breast-feeding him.

This time, the star appears make-up free with her locks tied up into a bun.

A beaming Billy also grins from ear-to-ear as he sits down to open his birthday presents. 

She announced her split from Jamie in July 2021 after nearly three years together.

And Sheridan shared a glimpse inside her son Billy’s epic third birthday celebrations – complete with a winner’s podium, ball pits and racing themed chocolates.

Sheridan spared no expense as she decked out her venue in Kent with the help of friends in a perfect Grand Prix-style party.
