Simon Cowell has admitted he wouldn’t erase the accident that broke his back.
In August 2020, the 62-year-old music mogul fell off his beloved e-bike in Malibu, which saw him undergo back surgery.
However, the ordeal has only encouraged the entrepreneur to exercise even more, and, despite downgrading his bike to something a little more sedate, he told his ex girlfriend Terri Seymour on ExtraTV that he still does ‘ten miles a day.’

‘My most creative time is now when I cycle, because I cycle even though it’s an e-bike. I still got to pedal and I do about ten miles a day… even though I had an accident on one.
‘That was more an electric motorbike – these are called pedal-assist bikes and they’re brilliant,’ he explained.
Father-of-one Simon was adamant that he wasn’t nervous about getting back on a bike, even though he was only ‘a millimetre’ away from being paralysed.

‘That expression “get back on your bike,” with me, it was literal. I feel better than I did because I exercise so much more.
‘Honestly, if I could rewind, I would have gone through the whole thing again. Just because I feel better now. Yeah, even though it hurt like hell at the time,’ he admitted.
The talent show judge was not short of praise for partner Lauren Silverman, who is mother to their seven-year-old son Eric, and gushed: ‘She’s like my lioness. I mean, she was amazing.’

Simon has also been busy writing his ‘Wishfits’ books with Eric.
Of the inspiration his son has provided, the TV icon said: ‘I used to pretend to Eric there were animals that were half-dog half-cat and one was called a ‘cog’ and one was called a ‘dat’…
I said, “What would your favourite animal be if you had to put two together?” and the first thing he said was a ‘snog’, which is a snail and a dog… and then we came up with all these other ones like a ‘chimpanpoo’ and ‘polar bat’… and we got a book deal and so were writing the books together.’
Terri and Simon were reunited on Wednesday as they filmed an ExtraTV interview together.
The reporter and actress, 47, shared a cosy selfie with Simon as they chatted for the entertainment news show in the garden of his Malibu home.
The pair dated from 2002 to 2008 and have remained firm friends, often spending time together alongside Simon’s partner Lauren.

In the snaps Terri beamed as she sat with her former flame, and was wearing a stylish green leather dress.
Meanwhile Simon looked relaxed in a grey T-shirt and white shorts as he showed off his smooth complexion.

The post also included a short clip of Simon talking about his e-bike accident last year.
Terri last reunited with Simon in public back in April, when she celebrated the Easter weekend with Simon and his current partner Lauren in LA.
Among the snaps Terri shared to Instagram was a group image of Lauren coyly placing her arm around partner Simon as they posed for a group photo.

Simon has remained close friends with ex Terri ever since they dated from 2002 to 2008, and he even threw a birthday party for her daughter Coco last year.
While Terri and Simon reportedly split over his desire to not have a brood – his situation is very different now, with him admitting in 2017 that their children often share playdates.
Terri has six-year-old daughter Coco with model boyfriend Clark Mallon, 29 while Simon and Lauren have Eric.
Terri and Simon were an item for eight years before their split, with the record executive rumoured to have given her a £6million ‘parting gift’.
He then went on to become engaged to Afghan-born make-up artist Mezhgan Hussainy in 2010, but they split in February 2012.
Simon shocked fans in summer 2013 when it was revealed he was expecting his first child with American socialite Lauren – who was then married to real estate mogul Andrew Silverman.
