Sporting legend claims he doesn’t fear any bushtucker trials after saying he’d be ‘open’ to appearing on the next series of I’m A Celeb

A sporting legend has claimed that he doesn’t fear any bushtucker trials after saying he would be ‘open’ to appearing on the next series of I’m A Celeb.

Darts player Phil Taylor, 64, has previously been rumoured to be appearing on the show and has now spoken about it again.

This year’s series saw Made In Chelsea star Sam Thompson, 31, win the show – which is often full of celebrity sporting stars.

Phil told The Sports Betting Community’s OLBG blog: ‘Yeah, I’d be open to it. We’ve got to talk, obviously. But Bob [his manager] will sort all that out.

‘I mean I don’t find any challenges in there what I couldn’t do. I know they’re not going to put anything in there that’s going to hurt you.

‘I know you can get bitten, and something can go up your nose or whatever but we’ll just have to see. Do you know what I mean? It would be a challenge and something I’ve never done before. So I would quite enjoy it I think.’

Phil has previously admitted that he is keen to get into the I’m a Celebrity jungle camp.

After the darts champion’s late mentor Eric Bristow enjoyed a stint in the jungle back in 2012, Phil told The Mirror that he himself was interested in appearing on the reality show.

Phil said: ‘I would like to do the jungle – I’m not so sure about Strictly, although it would do me the world of good and get me fit.

‘But if I was asked to do the jungle, and it fits in with my schedule, I would love to have a crack at it.’

It comes after earlier this week a Good Morning Britain star hinted they have already signed up to I’m A Celebrity 2024.

Entertainment reporter Richard Arnold teased that he has been asked to join the jungle reality show next year.

The showbiz correspondent, 54, returned to the GMB studio on Thursday after covering the I’m A Celebrity from Australia this year.

Richard admitted he was jet-lagged from the trip as he revealed that he has had a personal request from Ant and Dec to sign up to the critter-filled show.

In a pre-recorded video, the Geordie duo were seen in the famous I’m A Celebrity studio and promised the GMB star a ‘hammock’ is waiting for him in the camp.

GMB hosts Ben Shephard and Charlotte Hawkins quizzed Richard about being the next campmate.

He replied: ‘You would love nothing more. Would I? It’s a stellar invite from Ant and Dec.

‘I am at a time of life where if one door opens you walk through it – if your knees can make it. So I don’t know.’
