Strictly’s Dianne Buswell reunites with her cancer-stricken father as she returns home to Australia days after the live final

Strictly Come Dancing professional Dianne Buswell has reunited with her cancer-stricken father after returning home to Australia.

The dancer, 34, competed in Saturday’s final with EastEnders star Bobby Brazier, but missed out on the coveted Glitterball trophy.

Following the final, Dianne revealed she’s already jetted home to Australia, sharing a sweet selfie with her dad Mark as they enjoyed a morning coffee together.

She penned the caption: ‘and from the concert to having our first morning coffee ❤️ I’m home @mark.3802.’

Dianne broke down in tears on Strictly back in October after her dad Mark was diagnosed with cancer.

In a recent interview, Dianne spoke about the difficulty of not being in Australia with her family as her dad goes through chemotherapy.

Dianne told Heat Magazine: ‘I am such a hard-working, crazy dancer that it’s been a really nice balance, where Bobby has brought a lot of calmness into my life.

‘There has been quite a lot of going on in my personal life over these past few months, and Bobby has been really realistic and supportive, telling me everything’s going to be OK.

‘It’s crazy that such a young guy can have such a good mind on him.’

On Sunday Dianne shared a gushing Instagram tribute to Bobby after they missed out on the Glitterball trophy.

In 2018, she was a finalist on the sixteenth series with her partner and now boyfriend  YouTuber Joe Sugg – but they didn’t win.

But as she reflected on the 2023 series she said she was less ‘obsessed’ with winning the trophy and was choosing to focus instead on the friendship she found with Bobby.

She said: ‘I used to be so obsessed with winning a sparkly trophy constantly thinking about that moment and what it would feel like!

‘But what I have realised dancing with this wonderful human is the win and the sparkle is everywhere if you want it to be.

‘Last night Bobby and I danced with so much joy passion and emotion that my heart was bursting with happiness and pride and there was our win!

‘Bobby’s only competition in this show was himself he wanted to become a better dancer and a better professional and to help him achieve both those goals makes me a proud teacher.

She signed off by adding: ‘I am so grateful that i was the lucky one to be partnered with bobs and I am so excited for his bright future ahead he is not just a real talent but a really lovely soul.

‘Thanks for making me enjoy my dancing like I was a little girl again no fear no anxiety just love and passion for what I am able to do.’
