Suzi Quatro reveals she threatened Angus Young from AC/DC after he ‘pinched her bottom’ in the 70s

Suzi Quatro has revealed she threatened AC/DC rocker Angus Young when he ‘pinched her bottom’ in the Seventies.

The singer, 73, admitted that she learnt to handle herself during her time in bands as ‘men thought female musicians were easy.’

Writing in a column in the Sunday Times Magazine, Suzi revealed she would be groped ‘all the time’ but Angus was the only man who ever got away with it.

Recalling the incident that happened when they were working on the same TV show, she explained how the guitarist was left ‘bright red’ with embarrassment.

Suzi wrote: ‘I’ve been in bands since I was a kid and I know that the world — especially men — has a fixed idea about women in bands. We’re easy. Back in the 1970s it happened all the time.’

She continued: ‘There’s only one man who got away with it and that was Angus Young from AC/DC. This was many, many years ago and we were appearing on the same show. I was walking upstairs and felt someone pinch my a**.

‘I turned around, fist raised, and he went bright red. “I’m so sorry,” he stammered. I said, “I’ll let you off this once. Do it again and you won’t be playing guitar for a couple of months.”‘

MailOnline has contacted Angus’ representative for comment.

The comments come after Suzi threw Good Morning Britain into chaos after her alarm clock failed to go off in time for Thursday’s show.

The iconic singer was forced to film her interview from her swanky Essex home after being unable to make it to the London studio.

Sat in front of her many gold records she said:  ‘It’s so great to be here, I have to give you a congratulations because in my 59-year long career this is the first time my alarm didn’t go off’.

While host Susanna Reid, who presented the show alongside Ed Balls, replied: ‘We are sorry, we should have sent you round a few alarms’.

After giving a brief tour of her home Suzi spoke about her life in the music industry and revealed how she once turned down the chance to meet Elvis Presley.

Saying: ‘I was supposed to meet him in 1974, I was in America on tour, and the phone rang and it was Elvis’ people and he was on the phone’.

‘He said “hello this is Elvis and I heard your version of All Shook Up and I think it is the best version since my own, would you like to come to Graceland’

Giggling she went on: ‘I said thank you, but I am busy at the moment’.

‘Oh no!’ Susanna exclaimed as Ed gasped in shock.
