Tea party! Team USA is filmed dancing and partying to Crime Mob in the locker room after beating England as Alex Morgan explains THAT cup of tea celebration

United States women’s soccer star Alex Morgan wasn’t trying to embarrass England with her ‘tea sipping’ goal celebration in Tuesday’s 2-1 World Cup semi-final win – she was just trying to compete with teammate Megan Rapinoe.

‘I know Megan Rapinoe has the best celebration,’ Morgan told reporters after scoring the go-ahead goal against England on Tuesday. ‘I had to try and step up this game.’

Rapinoe celebrated one of her two goals against France by striking a dramatic pose with one hand elegantly raised in the air. Pictures of the moment quickly went viral before becoming tabloid fodder over the following days.

On Tuesday, Morgan mimed sipping tea after scoring the go-ahead goal on a beautiful header in the 68th minute. And to sell the pantomime, the U.S. forward raised her pinkie in the air, perhaps poking fun at England’s aristocratic reputation.

‘I wanted to keep it interesting,’ Morgan said.

Morgan had plenty to celebrate on Tuesday, in part, because it was her 30th birthday.

Not only did fans sing Morgan ‘Happy Birthday,’ but teammates presented her with a cake in the locker room, where the American women also enjoyed an impromptu dance party.

With Morgan working the camera, the Instagram post begins with three teammates doing a choreographed dance before another teammate can be heard joyously screaming while watching a video of the team’s on-field celebration from moments earlier.

Then what appears to be most of the team can be seen dancing to Atlanta hip hop group Crime Mob.

The Instagram video also includes shots of Morgan receiving her birthday.
