Father-of-four Dario Palmieri, 37,  was one of two men arrested when heavily armed officers raided a Tea Tree Gully home in Adelaide’s west allegedly belonging to his mother on February 29.

Palmieri’s mother is not accused of any wrongdoing.

Police allege that 35g of methamphetamine was found on a kitchen table while $9750 in cash was stashed inside the microwave.

Palmieri and his co-accused were charged with trafficking in a controlled drug, money laundering and use or have possession of a prohibited weapon over items seized from the property.

Palmieri appeared in Elizabeth Magistrates Court via videolink on Friday, where he made a submission to be granted home detention to live his ex-partner and their children, the Adelaide Advertiser reported.

The court heard that corrections officers had spoken with Palmieri’s former partner who was willing to have him back but wouldn’t ‘hesitate to kick him out of the house again if he starts doing the wrong thing’.

Magistrate Joanna Martin told Palmieri that he needed to be ‘exceptionally grateful’ to his former partner because she was the only reason he was ‘getting out today’.

‘She has had to do that before but she is willing to give him another chance to accommodate him to make the children happy,’ she said

‘If you’re not cleaning the kitchen, cooking, vacuuming, gardening and doing everything you can to help her with those four children, she’ll have every right to kick you out.’

Palmieri responded he would ‘100 per cent’ be grateful and ‘will for his kids’.

A second man Ryan Cooney, 34, was also arrested during the Tea Tree Gully raid where police allege they found 350ml of the drug GBH in his vehicle.

Palmieri and Cooney will both reappear in court in June.
