The Bachelorette star Georgia Love is slammed for video appearing to mock disabled people

The Bachelorette’s Georgia Love has been slammed after she shared a video which appeared to be making fun of a man with facial palsy.

The TV star, 34, shared the now-deleted clip to TikTok, which captured her performing a skit in which she was sent over a drink from a mystery man at a bar.

Georgia was all smiles in the video as she accepted the free glass of champagne, before the camera panned over to the mystery man at the bar who bought it for her.

Australian comedian Sammy Peterson, who has facial palsy, was shown smiling at her from across the bar.

Georgia captioned the clip with some telling words: ‘POV: You’re sent a drink from a guy at the bar… The guy at the bar.’

Many of Georgia’s followers were left appalled by the footage, which appeared to be mocking people with disabilities, and quickly took to Facebook to complain.

‘This is gross. She often gets it wrong, doesn’t she? There’s a different between imitating a creep and imitating someone who looks disabled,’ one person sniped.

‘Oh boy, Georgia once again missing the mark. When is she going to learn?’ a second person asked.

However, one person argued that as the man in the clip was played by a real life comedian with facial palsy it ‘made sense’ in context – but was quickly refuted by another who said: ‘He’s not himself in the video so it’s irrelevant.’

Daily Mail Australia has reached out to Georgia for comment.

It is not the first time that Georgia has found herself in hot water over a video she shared to social media.

In September 2021, she issued an apology after posting an ‘offensive’ clip to Instagram.

The former reality star sparked backlash by uploading footage of a cat sitting in the window of an Asian restaurant in Melbourne.

She wrote across the footage: ‘Shop attendant or lunch?! [shocked emoji, crying-laughing emoji].’

The reality TV personality, who later deleted the video, returned to Instagram with a heartfelt apology post.
