The Block’s Neale Whitaker SLAMS Jimmy and Tam over lack of table

The Block’s resident judge Neale Whitaker has never been one to hold back when it comes to critiquing the competing teams’ rooms.

And this was certainly evident during Sunday’s episode, when it came to inspecting Jimmy and Tam’s 1950’s themed living and dining room.

Neale found a major issue in the couple choosing not to include a dining table, and described the space as a ‘complete fail’ with all the ‘problems’ that need to be fixed.

‘It’s a complete fail!’ The Block’s resident judge Neale Whitaker (pictured) slammed Jimmy and Tam for NOT including a dining table in their living and dining room, on Sunday’s episode

While Neale immediately praised Jimmy and Tam for their choice of lamp and storage cabinet, he quickly found fault in just how ‘compact’ the space felt.

For a family home that boasts a kitchen for entertaining and multiple bedrooms, the interior design guru thought it was a major problem to not include a dining table.

Fellow judge Darren Palmer agreed, calling it a ‘massive, massive misstep’, while Shaynna Blaze simply asked, ‘What were they thinking?’

‘This is not adequate for a house of this size and this value, it’s really not,’ Neale went on to say. ‘Ever since we walked into this room, all we’ve done is fix problems.

‘That’s all we’ve done is fix problems, so this room is a complete fail.’

Meanwhile, Luke and Jasmin’s 1910 themed living and dining room was praised by all three judges, with Neale loving the white colour palette and its ‘beach house feel’.

Jasmin broke down in tears after leaving a Freedom store, and called her mother after she was unable to make a decision on what coffee table to use in the space.

‘I don’t know what I’m doing! I don’t know what I’m doing!’ she told her mother, wiping away tears.

For Harry and Tash’s 1920’s living and dining room reveal, the judges commended the father and daughter duo for creating a ‘grand’ space that felt luxurious.

Neale suggested it’s something a professional interior designer would produce.

However, Sarah and George’s choice of a white brick fireplace in their 1940’s living and dining room saw the judges divided.

Neale also thought there was ‘too much monochrome’ in the space, while Shaynna said she ‘wasn’t feeling’ the vibe and there was ‘nothing grabbing’ her.

It was all positive however for Daniel and Jade’s 1930’s living and dining room, with Darren hugging their curved wall that he felt created a ‘sultry, moody heaven’.

Shaynna also called the curved wall ‘spectacular’ and was certainly fond of their ‘sexy dining table’.

Harry and Tash finished in top spot on 28-and-a-half points, followed by Sarah and George on 25, Daniel and Jade on 28, Luke and Jasmin on 24-and-a-half, and Jimmy and Tam on 21-and-a-half.

The Block continues Monday at 7.30pm on Channel Nine
