The Block’s Shelley Craft launches extraordinary attack on the show’s ‘worst team’ ever

The Block co-host Shelley Craft launched an extraordinary spray on Thursday against last year’s ‘villain’ contestants Ankur Dogra and Sharon Johal.

The TV presenter, 47, was discussing the upcoming season with Hit’s Maz and Matty and did not hold back when asked about the lack of building experience amongst this year’s contestants.

‘We were after great characters and I think we have got that this year. I always thought my best team would be an accountant and a HR manager,’ she began.

‘We sort of had that last year and it was an absolute epic disaster,’ she continued.

‘That was the worst team there is. So, it’s not the recipe and now we are really after great people who are happy to give it everything,’ she added.

The pair infamously clashed with host Scott Cam, 60, over continually blowing out their budget, resulting in him infamously limiting their expenses to get things under control.

Ankur, 42, called Cam’s action a ‘personal attack’ against his career as an accountant.

It comes after Shelley’s co-host Scott Cam revealed while he has no immediate retirement plans, when that day came in the distant future he had the perfect person in mind to take over as host.

‘I reckon the only person who could do it is my current co-host Shelley Craft, that’s right,’ he said.

Craft added there was no one better suited than her to take over the reins when the time finally came.

‘That’s my job, isn’t it? Don’t I step up and then I get a sidekick?’ she said.

Shelley added they adopted a tough but fair approach to dealing with challenging situations whilst on set.

‘We do crack the whip a little bit but we also offer a warm hug at the same time,’ she said.
