The Chase’s Anne Hegerty spills the beans on the Chasers’ secret WhatsApp group which they use to have a ‘b***h about’ producers

The Chase star Anne Hegerty, 65, has opened up about how she and her quiz show co-stars have a WhatsApp group where they candidly discuss producers.

The TV star revealed that the group chat serves as a support system during tough times when the Chasers – made up of Anne, Mark Labbett, Jenny Ryan, Paul Sinha, Shaun Wallace, Darragh Ennis – are frequently losing on the show.

Anne – nicknamed the Governess on the hit ITV show – told The Express how the five Chasers are very close and like to socialise at a certain restaurant because ‘people don’t eavesdrop’.

She said: ‘We have WhatsApp. We have one WhatsApp group that’s got the producers in and another one that hasn’t got the producers in so we can b**** about them.

‘If someone is having a bad time, if someone [a chaser] was losing a lot, we’d kind of be very reassuring because it could be any of us.’

The star, who is known for her serious look on the show did talk fondly towards the show’s presenter Bradley Walsh.

She gushed: ‘[Bradley] is just this legendary presenter, and he is just such a nice guy, all the Chasers have such a nice rapport with him.’

MailOnline has contacted ITV for comment.

The TV personality is best known for her intelligence on the show and has also debuted on I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here.

She has previously opened up on how she copes with Autism and last year revealed it’s had a tool on her finding love.

In her spin-off series The Chasers Road Trip, the presenter revealed the longest relationship she had had was four months and ended it because she ‘wasn’t good’ at providing him with the right amount of attention.

She went on to joke that she is ‘basically a Cyborg’ after learning that she has an emotional intelligence level of just 1%.

She said: ‘One of the things that really goes along with autism is that I really can’t hold down relationships. I’ve tried.

‘My longest relationship was four months and that only lasted that long because he lived in Brighton and I lived in Manchester.’

Anne’s honest chat comes after she confessed earlier this year that she still lives in her Housing Association flat.

Speaking on the How To Be 60 with Kaye Adams and Karen MacKenzie podcast, the TV personality said: ‘I live in a Housing Association flat. I own half of it and rent the other half’.

Anne also added that she prides herself in being easy to work with. She said: ‘In my real life I do try to cultivate a reputation to be easy to work with. To not be a diva.

‘If I’m going to be doing a panto and meeting the producers for the first time, I sometimes say to them, ‘Please be aware I’m not high maintenance.

‘It’s amazing how far you can get with a little bit of talent and a reputation for being a good sport and I try to be a good sport and not be difficult.’
