You’ve typed out your poetic response to your useless ex, and realised there’s a typo in the first line of your prose…

For the unenlightened, this might mean a mass deleting and retyping exercise, which could be enough to put you off the whole thing.

But fear not, there is a simple solution that lets you to use your iPhone keyboard similar to a desktop computer mouse, allowing you to scroll over the text and nip out the offending error.

And a married TikTok couple have gone viral for revealing this little-known trick.

Charles and Allie Marie Trippy, known as @charlesandallie on TikTok, shared a clip of themselves showing how to do this on your iPhone.

And users have praised them for the hack, with many saying they ‘never knew’ it.

She does so, as then he asks her to type a few words of gibberish on the notepad app

The video, captioned ‘One of my favorite hidden iPhone tricks’, begins with Mr Trippy asking his wife to ‘open up your notepad on your phone’

By pressing down on the space bar, you can move around the text, and also more accurately pin-point exactly which word or letter you want the cursor to go on

The video, captioned ‘One of my favorite hidden iPhone tricks’, begins with Mr Trippy asking his wife to ‘open up notepad’ on her phone.

‘This is going to be something pretty cool.’

He then requests she types a few words of gibberish on the app, so he can demonstrate how the trick works.

After doing so, Mr Trippy says: ‘No press and hold the space bar.

‘Now slide it back and forth.’

This creates a cursor, which you can move over the text, and more accurately pin-point exactly which word or letter you want you cursor to go on on the text.

And Mrs Trippy was left shocked as the cursor at the top of the screen moved seamlessly along the line of text she had just typed.
