EXCLUSIVE

Gold Logie-winning presenter Larry Emdur remains ‘totally focused’ on work despite allegedly being stalked by an obsessed fan after he scooped the top gong at this month’s TV night of nights.

Concerned viewers spotted the Channel Seven stalwart was missing from The Morning Show on Wednesday as news broke that NSW Police had been forced to take out an AVO to protect him from an allegedly obsessed fan.

However, Daily Mail Australia can reveal the Seven star is still at work and was on a pre-arranged break from the program as he films the next season of his hit game show, The Chase Australia.

Network insiders reassured Daily Mail Australia the tireless entertainer remained in good spirits and was hoping to ‘get on with the job’ with minimal distractions.

NSW Police were called to Seven’s Eveleigh headquarters at about 11.15am last Thursday after Victorian man Rodney Pearce, 52, allegedly attempted to enter the building.

‘Officers from South Sydney Police Area Command attended and spoke with a 52-year-old man who had been escorted from the building by security,’ NSW Police said in a statement.

Pearce was arrested and taken to hospital for assessment before he was then taken to Surry Hills Police Station.

He was charged with trespass and possession of a prohibited drug.

Pearce faced Downing Centre Local Court where he was granted conditional bail and is due to reappear on September 5.

His conditions include not entering Central Ave, the suburb of Haymarket, or coming within 200m of Channel 7.

The 52-year-old has also been ordered to report to Redfern Police Station daily.

Court records show the AVO in protection of Emdur is set to be mentioned in court on September 16.

The arrest came just days after Emdur took the top gong at the 2024 Logies on August 18.

After four decades on the screen, the television personality finally took home the top award.

Network Seven did not comment as the matter is before the court.
