The historic southern California house that once belonged to Hollywood power couple Natalie Wood and Robert Wagner has been placed on the market for the first time in 40 years.

The asking price for the the Palm Springs estate is listed for $2,495,000, according to SFgate.com, and includes a three-bedroom-two-bath guest house with its own entrance and parking. 

The main rock house sits atop a 1.6 acre property measuring over 5,000 square feet with six bedrooms and 6.5 baths.

The home is described as having a rustic finish, and features rough-hewn exposed beams, paver floors, original mullion windows, carved doors and shutters, multiple fireplaces, as well as original tile work and iron accents, SFgate.com reports. 

The property also boasts a tennis court, swimming pool, landscaped gardens, and 66 palm trees on ‘a gently rolling knoll’ on 303 West Crestview Drive in the Mesa neighborhood.

The home was later purchased by Pulitzer-winning author Herman Wouk, who purchased the property home for just under $1 million in 1983.

Wood was accompanied by her husband,  legendary film actor Christopher Walken and and the boast’s captain, Dennis Davern, at the time of her disappearance on the evening of November 28, 1981.

Authorities recovered Woods’ body the next day about a mile away with noticeable bruises on her body and arms as well as an abrasion on her left cheek. 

An autopsy later revealed that her blood alcohol was 0.14 per cent and along with two types of medications, a motion sickness pill and pain killer.   

Following his investigation, LA county coroner r Thomas Noguchi ruled her death an accident by drowning and hypothermia. No arrests were ever made in the case.
