The Traitors final date revealed with extended episode – and fans don’t have long to wait to see who banks bumper cash prize

The Traitors grand finale has been revealed – and fans don’t have long to wait to see who will bank the huge cash prize.

With up to £120,000 up for grabs, the Faithfuls have to uncover who is a Traitor amongst their midst.

If they fail, the remaining Traitors bag the cash pot the team has worked hard to collate over the series’ challenges.

The final episode of The Traitors will air on Friday 26th January at 9pm, with the show extended to 70-minutes of nail-biting drama.

That means there is just under three weeks for the Faithfuls to banish suspected Traitors.

But they have their work cut out if the first three episodes are anything to go by as three of them have already been ‘murdered’.

Paul, Harry, Miles and Ash have successfully managed to reduce the number of Faithfuls from 18 to 15.

Retired shop owner Aubrey, 67, Apprentice Economist Kyra, 21, and Volunteer Business Mentor Sonja, 66, have all faced the chop.

Viewers are now anxiously waiting to see if the Faithfuls vote out one of their own – Glaswegian photographer Brian, 33, or Traitor Ash, 45, after Paul and Harry turned on her.

Viewers took to X – formerly known as Twitter – to vent their fury as they had to wait until Wednesday’s episode to discover who is banished.

One posted: ‘THAT IS THE MOST BRUTAL CLIFFHANGER OF ALL TIME,’ while another moaned: ‘Gosh! Not the cliffhanger! The Traitors are going against each other sooner than I expected!’

‘So you’re telling me I have to wait until NEXT WEDNESDAY to find out what happens after that cliffhanger,’ a third added.

One fan fumed: ‘My kids apparantly can’t cope with a 1990s-style cliffhanger that you have to wait to get an answer to. How many days till the next episode!?’

Another shared: ‘Stunning cliffhanger. No notes.’

The opening episode pulled in an impressive 3.1million viewers as it returned to the BBC on Wednesday night.

The show which aired from 9pm-10pm peaked with around 3.1million watching, according to data supplied by overnights.tv.

The numbers will likely shoot up further on iPlayer over the coming days as many that would have been watching live could have instead been tuned into the PDC World Darts Championship featuring phenomenon Luke Littler.

It is a significant increase on the numbers watching last year’s opening episode, which hit 2.9million viewers.

Series two’s opening episode was also second highest overnight rating yet for the show overall – only slightly less than the series one final.

That final was watched by 3.3million as the show came to a dramatic conclusion.

The Traitors continues on Wednesday at 9pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
