The troubled past of MAFS star Elizabeth Sobinoff’s new ‘husband’ Sebastian Guilhaus is revealed – as the pair look set for a rocky romance

Retired footy player Sebastian Guilhaus is set to appear on the next season of Married At First Sight alongside Elizabeth Sobinoff.

And it appears the 31-year-old is no stranger to controversy, especially when it comes to his old team, Woodville-West Torrens FC of the South Australian National Football League (SANFL).

According to The Adelaide Advertiser in October 2018, Sebastian was given a three-match ban due to comments he had made about the SANFL on social media.

The SANFL tribunal ruled in favour of an opposing team after Sebastian had unleashed on the league and its umpires.

Following a losing game against North Adelaide, Sebastian logged into his Facebook account and aired his grievances.

Sebastian was angry that North Adelaide had beaten his team with 19 men on the field for the first three minutes of the final quarter.

According to the Advertiser, Sebastian said the decision to uphold the result of the match was an ‘unfathomable disgrace’.

‘For a period of time during today’s game North Adelaide had 19 men on the field and during that time they scored 8 points…. we lost by 5 points,’ he wrote.

‘Furthermore the free kick count was 30 to North and 17 to Eagles [Woodville]… the combination of the “19 man cheat” and the rigged umpiring is a clear sign that the SANFL wanted North to get through in order to maximise grand final attendance as Woodville has a much smaller support base.’

On November 24, Daily Mail Australia published photos that showed Elizabeth and Sebastian looking miserable while filming in Sydney.

They were spotted returning to their apartment building in the CBD, where the MAFS couples live together, several minutes apart.

Elizabeth had been shopping in the city, while Seb had spent the morning in a café on Kent Street. Tellingly, they did not appear to be spending any time together.

The couple had filmed their wedding in October, around six weeks into production of the new season.

Married At First Sight’s seventh season will premiere on Nine in January next year
