TikTok tour of creepy Goldfingers strip club closed by Covid – complete with semi-naked squatter

Creepy video shows abandoned Australian strip club closed by Covid – complete with semi-naked squatter and leftover toothbrushes in the communal shower

  • TikTok account which films abandoned venues visits ex-Melbourne strip club
  • Goldfingers closed since late 2020 but still has damaged fittings in place
  • The bathroom looked still used while a squatter was filmed trying to sleep

A torchlight tour of an abandoned Australian strip club was made even seedier with the unexpected sighting of a semi-naked squatter.

A TikTok page on decaying venues explored Goldfingers Strip Club, which went bust during the pandemic, on Lonsdale Street in the Melbourne CBD,

The urban explorer goes from dingy room to dingy room beginning with the startling sight of a semi-naked squatter in his jocks sleeping on the carpeted floor without a mattress.

In an unusual sequence, the jerky footage then jumps to focus on cherubs painted on the blue-sky decorated ceiling.

The video pans around showing the generally wrecked interior, including peeling paint, damaged greasy mirrors, and broken pink velour bench seats – one mended with gaffer tape.

We also get to see the busted stage, stripped shelves, bedraggled light fittings, a sad empty bar, and the uneasy leftovers of a well-used bathroom.

It is the only room where several items have been left untouched.

These include around 10 toothbrushes, a pile of exfoliating gloves, eight cleansing puffs, and several half-used bottle of lotions and body wash and razors.

A google review from 2019 noted Goldfingers smelled of alcohol and had ‘sticky floors’.

While a video cannot show those things, they did ring true from seeing the state of the place on the TikTok clip.

Predictably there were several sleazy and smart-alec comments on TikTok, but one woman noted: ‘I’m happy there are covered spaces for homeless to go.’

Perhaps the strangest thing about the TikTok video was seeing toothbrushes, razors and exfoliating looking as if they'd been left by the staff 14 months ago
