Tim Cahill buys $1.7 million Byron Bay farming property

He’s one of Australia’s most highly recognised soccer players with a reported net worth of $30 million.

And Tim Cahill has reportedly made a big property investment.

According to the Herald Sun, the 37-year-old Socceroos player purchased a lavish Byron Bay family home for $1.7 million.

‘The northern NSW farm is formally in the name of his parents, Tim Cahill Sr and Sisofa, with the transfer documents revealing the purchasing finance was provided by Cahill Jr,’ they said. 

The 13-hectare farm boasts three bedrooms and two baths and according to the publication will remain as a ‘hobby farm’ for the athlete.

‘It is expected to remain as a hobby farm as Cahill has privately expressed an interest in an agricultural pursuit.’

After selling his luxury waterfront Caringbah South home in 2015 for nearly $6 million, he scooped up a $2.775 million Melbourne bargain earlier in the year. 

His Lower Plenty purchase is located 20km from the city centre and boasts four bedrooms on a large 4200sq metre lot. 

Tim currently calls Melbourne home while he plays for the state’s team as part of a three year contract.
