Tom Brady spent part of his abrupt 11-day break from training in August visiting his son from his previous relationship in the Hamptons while his marriage to Gisele Bündchen was under strain over his decision to unretire from football, DailyMail.com has learned.
The quarterback met up with Jack in New York’s billionaires’ playground to celebrate his 15th birthday after spending most of his time off in The Bahamas with Gisele – their first family vacation in August in two decades.
Gisele was not seen during Tom’s Hamptons detour, but Brady’s two children with her, Benjamin Rein, 12, and Vivian Lake, 9, were there.
Brady’s ex Bridget Moynahan was in the area too, which means he was trying to see all of his blended family during the vacation.
The detour to see Jack gives fresh insight into Brady’s movements during the 11-day break which teammates describe at the time as him dealing with ‘family problems.’

Gisele, 42, is now reportedly living apart from Brady, her husband of 13 years, after becoming upset over his U-turn on retiring six weeks after he quit football in March.
Their vacation to the Bahamas was supposed to be their first holiday together in August in two decades because of Brady having to attend pre-season training camp every year.
Brady left the Buccaneers on August 11 and returned on August 22 where he was seen practicing with the team in Tampa.

He wrote: ‘Happy Birthday my beautiful son. What a blessing you are in our life. We love you so much and are so proud of the amazing young man that you are. You make every day of our life more joyful and fun’.
With two heart emojis, he wrote: ‘Have a great 15th Birthday Jack.’
According to local sources, Brady was also seen on Shelter Island where Moynahan and her husband Andrew Frankel, an investment banker, spend their time when not at their home in New York’s Tribeca neighborhood.

Jack is wearing the same hat and shirt as in the shot taken by his father on the golf course and the image appears to have been taken in the Hamptons.
Gisele wrote: ‘Happy birthday sweetest Jack!! 15 looks great on you! I wish you all the most wonderful things in the world. You are so loved by all of us’.
The image was far more muted than Jack’s 14th birthday the previous year where Gisele posted a picture of her, Brady, and all three children smiling together with Jack in the middle of them all.

In a further twist, People magazine has reported that Brady attended one of Jack’s football practices in New York on the same trip – but made no mention of Gisele being there.
According to the New York Post, Gisele took a trip to Costa Rica on her own at the start of September after having an ‘epic fight’ with Brady.
Brady and Gisele have spoken fondly of his blended family but at the time, Moynahan’s pregnancy was a shock to all parties.
Brady was already dating Gisele in 2006 when he was dumbstruck by the news that Moynahan was pregnant with their son.
Gisele has reflected on the time in her memoir and said that it turned her life ‘upside down,’ adding that she did not have an ‘easy time’ coming to terms with it.
However the Brazilian model said that over time her ‘heart expanded in ways (she) didn’t know were possible.’
Moynahan said in her own memoir that she ‘barely left the house’ during her pregnancy because of all the attention, calling herself ‘reclusive’ and ‘wildly private.’
She wrote: ‘Having a baby should have been the most joyous time of my life, but instead I felt assaulted.’
Gisele has said that she doesn’t like calling herself ‘stepmom’ to Jack and said she prefers to call herself ‘bonus mom.’
She has also called him her ‘bonus child.’

In an interview with Howard Stern, Brady has said that the period was ‘very hard’ for Gisele.
He said: ‘To think she fell in love with this guy, and now this guy’s ex-girlfriend is pregnant. And it was very challenging for my son’s mom because she didn’t envision that either.’
Reports over the weekend said that Brady and Gisele have been living apart for more than a month.
Gisele has in the past talked about how she put her modeling career second so that Brady could chase seven Super Bowl victories on his way to becoming arguably the greatest quarterback of all time.
In May she told British Vogue: ‘I don’t think relationships just happen; it’s never the fairy tale people want to believe it is. It takes work to be really in sync with someone, especially after you have kids.
‘His focus is on his career, mine is mostly on the kids.’
In a recent interview with Elle magazine, Gisele said she had ‘concerns’ about Brady returning to football, a decision which made him the oldest quarterback ever to play in the NFL.
She said: ‘This is a very violent sport, and I have my children and I would like him to be more present.
‘I have definitely had those conversations with him over and over again. But ultimately, I feel that everybody has to make a decision that works for (them) He needs to follow his joy, too.’
Gisele added that she was ‘very fulfilled, as a mother and as a wife,’ adding in an apparent reference to her own career: ‘And now it’s going to be my turn.’

‘I’m trying to make sure I don’t throw my arm out when I throw it,’ Brady jokingly said on his weekly Let’s Go podcast. ‘But I was pretty p***ed yesterday.’
‘I’ve had a pretty bad record against that tablet unfortunately. I forgot the password and I couldn’t log in, so those things can be frustrating,’ Brady joked again.
‘I didn’t do a very good job of (remaining calm), and I’ve got to be really mindful of that going forward and getting my emotions in a good place so it allows me to be the best player I can be.
‘I think there’s are points where you can become too overly emotional, which I definitely think I was (on Sunday).’
After the Bucs’ first game victory over the Dallas Cowboys Brady said he felt sore a few days after but then recovered, a sign that age may be finally catching up with him.
He will be given every Wednesday off during this season as a ‘personal day,’ his coaches have said.
