Tori Spelling admits to dressing her son Beau in his school clothes BEFORE bed to save time: ‘Am I a bad mom?

Tori Spelling revealed her ‘lazy’ hack to getting her youngest child to school on time during Tuesday’s episode of her MisSPELLING podcast.

While chatting with fellow actress, Debbie Gibson, the Beverly Hills, 90210 alum, 51, revealed that she dresses her son, Beau, seven, in his school clothing the night before to save time in the morning.

‘It’s so bad. I’ve gotten so lazy with my youngest one because there’s so many, that at night I put him in his clothes for the next day,’ she admitted to listeners. ‘And convinced him that it’s cool to do that.’

The reality star, who filed for divorce from Dean McDermott after 18 years of marriage in April, went on to explain how she’s ‘rationalized’ the new routine.

‘So, he has dinner, he takes his bath — sometimes— but then I’ll be like, “Hey, dude. It will save an extra five minutes if we get dressed now and then you can sleep later.”‘

In response to the suggestion, Spelling noted that her little boy was totally on board and now ‘sleeps in his clothes.’

After making the confession, the mother-of-five jokingly asked: ‘Am I a bad mom?’

In June, the performer shared photos of Beau’s end of the year Kindergarten party.

‘Beau Beau is officially a 1st grader,’ she captioned a sweet snap of them together at his elementary school.

The unconventional hack of putting a child to bed in their school clothes does spark some concern among experts.

Dr. Natalie Blum told Sleep.com that ‘the safety of pajamas vs daytime clothing is the most dangerous part of wearing clothes to bed.’

For example, the the Consumer Product Safety Act, which regulates children’s sleepwear, requires that ‘pajamas that aren’t very tight fitting must contain flame retardants.’

Others concerns include how decorative items, like sequins, buttons and zippers, on day clothing can be choking hazards.

Blum also pointed out that ‘bedtime and morning rituals are a part of healthy child development.’

‘Typically, for best sleep hygiene, we recommend doing the exact same bedtime and morning routine daily,’ she told the outlet. ‘[Changing into pajamas] just helps separate day from night, especially for younger children who are still setting up routines.’

Another factor is how daytime clothing can irritate sensitive skin overnight.

In addition to Beau, Spelling and her estranged husband share Liam, 17, Stella, 16, Hattie, 12, and Finn, 11.
