Travis Kelce confirms he will NOT be with Taylor Swift at the Grammys because of the Super Bowl: ‘I wish I could go and watch her win every award she is nominated for’

Travis Kelce has confirmed he will not make the Grammys to support Taylor Swift because of practice with the Kansas City Chiefs ahead of the Super Bowl.

Speaking on the Pat McAfee show on Wednesday, Kelce said: ‘I wish I could go and support Taylor at the Grammys and watch her win every single award that she is nominated for.

‘But I think I’ve got practice on Sunday, or it is a travel day? No, I’ve got practice on Saturday, Sunday is a travel day. I’ve got to get ready for this big old Super Bowl.’

McAfee then joked that Kelce is the ‘only person in her orbit’ who would be too busy to make the award show.

The 34-year-old tight-end will be arriving in Las Vegas the same weekend as the music industry’s biggest award ceremony, which is set to take place on Sunday at Crypto.com Arena in LA.

Swift will now have to go solo on the red carpet this weekend as she is up for six awards.

The singer will then head to Tokyo, Japan for four nights of her Eras Tour before racing back to the west coast for the Super Bowl in Vegas on February 11.

There, she will watch Kelce bid to win football’s ultimate prize for the second straight season against San Francisco 49ers.

Kelce was quizzed by McAfee about Swift and their relationship.

‘We’re just trying to reel in the good ones, just one at a time, baby,’ Kelce said about initial skepticism over them dating. ‘Win everyone over. We’re two people in a relationship supporting each other and having fun with it. It’s nothing more than that.’

As for handling the extra attention, he said: ‘I 100 percent had to reel it back and make sure that everybody in this building knows my intentions.

‘Football is my main focus. There’s a lot of people counting on me, No 1 focus on top of that, in my heart, is to pour everything onto the field.

‘There’s been some perception – and people can perceive things how they want – but I wanna make sure that the men and women in this building know my focus is 100 percent on this team and to get us where we going this week.

‘I did take a step aback and look at how I was portraying myself, all while still enjoying my life off the field.’
