UFC 248: Israel Adesanya fights Yoel Romero

Israel Adesanya has not disappointed with his arrival in the octagon ahead of his UFC middleweight championship defence against Yoel Romero.

Adesanya, 30, paid tribute to his Nigerian and New Zealand heritage as he entered T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Saturday evening just before 10pm local time.

The New Zealander walked to the octagon with women on either side, lining the way by dropping flower petals at his feet.

Israel Adesanya has not disappointed with his arrival in the octagon ahead of his UFC middleweight championship defence against Yoel Romero.

Adesanya won the title at UFC 243 by defeating Australian Robert Whittaker – a man who has beaten Romero twice.

By contrast Romero, 42, entered T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas with little fanfare as he looks to win the middleweight belt.

The Cuban former Olympic gold medalist previously lost a fight for the interim title to Whittaker in June 2018.
