Urgent warning after person with COVID-19 dines at a busy shopping centre food court in Sydney

  • Castle Towers Shopping Centre issued the urgent warning to all its customers
  • The infected person visited the centre on August 7 between 3.30pm and 5pm 
  • Management has started a deep clean and is contacting customers  

An urgent cornonavirus warning has been issued after an infected person dined at a busy food court in Sydney. 

The person visited the Castle Towers Shopping Centre, in the city’s north- west, on August 7 between 3.30pm and 5pm.

Management have begun a deep clean of the area and are frantically trying to contact customers. 

An urgent warning was issued to customers who visited the Castle Towers Shopping Centre (pictured) on August 7 after a person infected with COVID-19 dined in the food court 

‘We made the proactive decision to undertake a deep clean of the areas the customer is known to have visited using high-grade disinfectant,’ a statement read. 

‘We are working closely with the relevant authorities and will follow their advice with regards to next steps and are prepared to act accordingly.’

Cleaning rotations and hand sanitsation stations are also being increased in the centre. 

‘We encourage everyone to take steps in accordance with advice from the health department to assist in mitigating the spread of viral infections,’ the statement continued. 

NSW food courts are subject to the one person per four square metres social distancing rule.
