Virgin offers flights to some of Australia’s hottest holiday spots for as little as $75

Virgin offers flights to some of Australia’s hottest holiday spots for as little as $75 as Queensland finally opens its borders to all of NSW

  • Virgin Australia reduced the price of two-million fares under the seven-day sale
  • Return tickets to Ballina, the closest airport to Byron Bay, are being sold for $75
  • People in Sydney can also fly to Byron Bay, Hobart and Adelaide at cheap rates

Virgin is selling flights to a number of holiday destinations for as little as $75 as Queensland finally opens its borders to holidaymakers from New South Wales.

The Sunshine State closed the border to 35 local government areas in Greater Sydney, Wollongong and the Central Coast during December’s Covid-19 outbreak.

But with NSW recording two weeks without a local case, Queensland’s border checkpoints are now being dismantled.

To celebrate, Virgin Australia launched the seven-day sale on Monday with a number of flights from Sydney to top Queensland destinations for under $90.

Flights to the Gold Coast will cost $79 and people travelling to the Sunshine Coast (pictured) will pay $89

Border restrictions imposed on Greater Sydney by the ACT and Victoria also relaxed on Friday, while Tasmania and South Australia eased their restrictions on Sunday.
