Ride-sharing company Uber has its own designated parking spots at a popular Sydney shopping centre.
The parking spots at Westfield in Bondi Junction in the city’s eastern suburbs are used for picking up and dropping off customers.
A photo of the parking spots was posted to Reddit on Tuesday, and commenters offered their opinions on the designated areas.

‘Looks like a very convenient thing for the users. You can pretty much use an Uber just like if you were driving there,’ one said.
‘Seems like an overall win to me.’
Another said: ‘As a former Uber driver, thank f**k for these. It was always a b**l-ache to pick up people from shopping centres’.
‘It’s a good idea. Uber drivers can get fined for stopping in the wrong places, even though they kind of need to,’ another person said.
‘I can actually get behind this one. I’d rather an Uber wait in one of those spots than to wait in a lane and block traffic.’
Others were not so complimentary of the specified Uber-only parking spaces.

‘Reserved parking spots are getting a bit ridiculous now. GoGet, Uber, electric cars, small cars, mothers with prams, what’s next?’ one asked.
‘Would prefer to be picked up from the street,’ another said.
‘I don’t want the metre running while queuing to get out of the carpark.’
Another Reddit user suggested the spaces would have a sensor in the roof to tell customers when their Uber was in the right place.
Ride-share specific parking spots are already in place at airports across Australia.
