As Valentine’s Day draws closer the UK has gone into overdrive searching the most unusual – and favourite – sex positions of the country.
OnBuy.com analysed Google search terms and conducted a nationwide survey to find out what the most-searched sex positions in the UK are, and which city favours what when it comes to bedroom antics.
Classic positions like the 69, missionary and cowgirl make the top five most-searched, while the Eagle racked up 150,000 searches in the last month alone.
Londoners named the Eagle, the missionary position where the woman putting her legs in the air made famous by Curtis Pritchard on Love Island last year, as their favourite position.
Meanwhile Scots in Edinburgh favour the 69, while while those living in Milton Keynes prefer putting more work in and enjoy the standing position.
Elsewhere those in Belfast prefer a more traditional approach, favouring the missionary position.
The research shows that 11 cities in the UK, including Blackburn, Bournemouth and Bradford, named missionary as their all-time favourite.
However double that, including Colchester, Coventry, Glasgow and Leicester prefer the Eagle.
Elsewhere Spooning, Doggy Style and the Pretzel also make the top 10 most searched positions.
And other unusual positions sparking interest online include the Butter Churner, made popular by Callum Jones on Love Island last month, the Anvil, the Mermaid and the Turtle.
Meanwhile the least searched sex positions in the UK include the ‘Nirvana’, with just 10 searches, which sees the penetrating partner lie on top of the other, with their legs wrapped around the other’s legs.
Other unpopular positions include the Sphinx, the Cross, and the Thigh Master – all with less than 50 searches.
