This is the stomach-churning moment a wannabe acrobat breaks his neck while trying to perform a backflip for social media. 

The bone-crunching blunder came while trying to shoot a clip for the Tik Tok viral video app.

But the man from Karnataka, India, failed to rotate his body all the way through the pivot which resulted in his folded neck being squashed between his body and the ground.

And the 30-second slow motion clip, which was supposed to capture a spectacular somersault, instead shows a rather painful pivot. 

The video shows the barefooted man, dressed in a pink top and dark tracksuits, in the park preparing to take a run-up.

He then rushes a few feet forwards towards his friend who is interlocking his fingers down by his waist to create a foothold.

But it is soon clear that he has not propelled himself hard enough
